Beckon who?

First there was Becky...well not really. I guess Luke was first as entering into the world is concerned. But for our purposes, Becky was the first to ever approach the idea mentally, emotionally, and ecumenically. The IDEA, the great idea! The idea that would change a movement (albeit small...) and start a course down an entirely new and fresh path. This idea of hers was no shot in the dark. She trusted it. And good for her. This idea of hers was true.

Luke on the other hand was clueless...Now a bright young lad and certainly full of promise, mind you, however nonetheless clueless as it concerns this great idea. Wandering around hoping something would happen I suppose. Wishing and hoping and dreaming to be exact. He was doing good things with his time no doubt and was sure something was in the works, something was going to happen. But it wasn't. At least not as he had thought...

Then it did. What did was Becky's doing when she decided to Beckon (Luke) and Beckon Q!

So let the rest be history and that be just that (for now anyways). Still curious though? Good...

Style:

Beckon Q is a pop acoustic rock band whose style combines influences from Over the Rhine, Dashboard Confessional, Colbie Caillat, Nickel Creek and many others.

Bio:

In November of 2006, Chicago-based singer-songwriters Becky Johnson and Lukas Quanstrom teamed up to form the band “Beckon Q”. Their beginning marked a unique formation of a double front man, male and female approach to the stage that capitalized on their acoustic roots and strong vocal compatibility.  Becky’s soft, melodic approach combined with Lukas’ rhythmic and emotive style creates Beckon Q’s unique blend.  Beckon Q has just released their debut album, “Your Chance” which is available on itunes and follows a slew of shows including opening for Mandisa from American Idol and Toby Mac at House of Blues Chicago, Need to Breathe, Starfield, Chris Young, and the Wreckers.  They have since added Nathan Ykema as a full-time member on bass guitar and Scott Dalheim on electric guitar.  Nate’s bass training includes working with Victor Wooten during his 10 years of experience.  Scott pulls experience from his previous work with Escape from Earth as well as studio work over the past 6 years of his music career.
